Iranian President: US, Israel Real Terrorists in World
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian lashed out at Washington and Tel Aviv over murdering civilians across the globe, stressing that the two regimes are real terrorists in the world.
"The US and Israel... in Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Iraq, Qatar, and Iran—they come, attack, assassinate anybody they wish, and then tell others that these people are the terrorists," Pezeshkian said in an interview with India Today on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi.He added that the United States and Israel are "the real terrorists", using technologies to kill people.Pezeshkian dismissed claims that Iran had initiated the ongoing war, stressing that the United States and Israel had started the war and that Tehran had only defended itself against attacks.
The United States and Israel waged a war against Iran on February 28, with the assassination of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and several high-ranking officials and military commanders, as well as thousands of civilians.In response, the Iranian Armed Forces carried out 100 waves of counterattacks over 40 days, targeting US and Israeli military assets, which resulted in significant damage.
Pezeshkian also denied claims that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons, stressing that Tehran has consistently operated within international law and would not have joined the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) if it had been pursuing such arms.
