Join the Public Libraries and Borrow Books from Imam Reza
During the 36th Tehran International Book Fair, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Public Libraries Institution of Iran and the Library, Museum, and Document Center of Astan Quds Razavi. The signing took place at the main booth of the Public Libraries with the presence of Azadeh Nazarboland, the Secretary General, and Hojjatoleslam Seyed Jalal Hosseini, the Head of Astan Quds Library and Museum.
At the beginning of the event, Hojjatoleslam Hosseini spoke about the high knowledge of Imam Reza (PBUH). He said: "Among the Shiite Imams, only Imam Reza is known as the 'Scholar of the Prophet's Family'. This title was not given by any organization or religious school. It was given by his grandfather, Imam Sadegh (PBUH)."He added: "Imam Sadegh had 4000 students and was the head of the school of thought. He once said to his son, Imam Kazem (PBUH): I wish I could meet Imam Reza. Since Imam Reza moved from Medina to Marv, his holy shrine has become a place for researchers and scholars."The Head of the Astan Quds Library also said: "This library is full of knowledge from many centuries ago. It is over 1,000 years old. The oldest Quran in this library is from the year 327 AH. The library also has more than 400 years of official records and can be traced back to the Safavid period."He continued: "This great library, which is related to Imam Reza (PBUH), is important for promoting reading culture. The Public Libraries Institution also has many branches across the country. Now, we want to connect these two systems to work together in many areas such as sharing books, librarian training, education, reading promotion, and cultural events."
Hojjatoleslam Hosseini also said: "According to this agreement, members of the Public Libraries can also use the Astan Quds Library, and members of the Astan Quds Library can use the public libraries across the country. This agreement will soon be shared everywhere."At the end, he shared a quote from the late Ayatollah Raeisi, the former head of Astan Quds. He said: "He always said that the idea of servant, service, and those served should grow in Astan Quds."In the end, Azadeh Nazarboland thanked the attendees and the agreement was officially signed. Also, a blessed flag from the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH) was gifted to the Secretary General as a symbol from all librarians in the country.
